The Shoals area of Northwest Alabama is rich in history and tradition. Located on the Tennessee River, it was known as the hit recording capital during the 1970's. It’s also the birth place of Helen Keller and the home of W.C. Handy, “the father of the Blues.” It was home base for T.B. Larimore, one of the most well-known and revered ministers of the 19th and early 20th century.
Sherrod Avenue church of Christ has been an integral part of our area’s history since October 28, 1923. We consider ourselves blessed to be part of our community’s rich history and tradition. More importantly, we are a part of God’s family that dates our spiritual heritage back to the New Testament. We are mindful of that heritage and use the New Testament as our guide for our organization, our doctrine and our worship. We make no claim at perfection; we rely on the grace of a loving and almighty God.
Sherrod Avenue gladly welcomes others to join us for worship and encourages you to begin your journey with us as part of our continuing history and the bright future of service to our God and this great community.
Sherrod Avenue truly is a Place to Call Home.
