Special Servants
The Sherrod Avenue Family is blessed to have many gifted servants who love Christ and His Church. These Servants are truly the hands and feet of the Body of Christ (Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-27) as they carry out the many works of service to build up the Church and carry out the Good News of Jesus Christ. Most work "behind the scenes" and with great sacrifice of time, effort and without notice.
At the heart of these gifted Christians are Our Special Servants. These serve through out all of our Ministries as Deacons, Ministry Leaders and Teachers.
These Christians truly depict the Apostle Paul's thoughts when he said, "And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ", Ephes. 4:11-13 (ESV).
Let each Sherrod Family member use our gifts to the fullness of Christ and assist our fellow Christians in the work God has called each of us to do.
The Servants Prayer:
Dear God, please make my Eyes see who You need me to serve, my Hands to do the work You created them to do, my Feet to walk where You want me to go, and my Mouth to say what You need to be said and, my Heart to love the way You love. Father, just make me like Jesus, a servant driven by the Holy Spirit to bring freedom to the slave of sin, sight to the spiritually blind, eternal life to the dead, living water to the thirsty, the bread of life to the hungry and hope to the hopeless. Just make me Your Servant.
